2019 Recap

Thank you all for supporting the 4th Annual Hot Dog Challenge! We are excited to have you along for this ride as we support this fine organization and continue on our great quest to Make Hot Dogs Great Again.

Year 3 was beyond our wildest dreams! I would be remiss if I did not start out by saying how much we appreciated all of the support and effort the Hot Dog Challenge received last year. We set an original goal of $3,000 at the start of the challenge. After 40 days of hot dogs and hundreds of donations we finished with over $17,000 going towards Leader Dogs for the Blind and our dear friend Jeff Cortese.

Leader Dogs for the Blind is an organization that helps to empower blind, visually impaired or Deaf-Blind people with lifelong skills for safe and independent travel. All of their services and programs are offered completely free of charge and without the help of any federal or state funding.

We know the stakes are higher this year than ever before and that is why we have set a goal of $20,000 this year. We witnessed first hand last year how special this challenge is and what it means to everyone who is a part of the Hot Dog Challenge and Leader Dog’s family. With your help and support, we will reach this goal and continue to pave the way for those who need guidance.

But why stop there? You are reading this because you truly believe in the challenge and will walk through charcoal grills and spicy mustard to come out stronger on the other side! That’s why we want to meet you in person and share a dog with everyone who has made the Hot Dog Challenge what it is today. So please join us on June 22nd in New Canaan, CT for our first annual Hot Dog Eating Contest!

For those of you who are about to embark on this challenge, you are now entering into a fraternity of passionate [hot] dog enthusiasts. Do not take this honor lightly, greatness does not happen by accident. Embrace your love of dogs, both hot and K9, and spread it to as many people as possible. Eating hot dogs is a team sport, and while only so many of us are willing to make the sacrifices necessary to be challengers, anyone and everyone can support the cause and enjoy a dog.

Please share your photos daily so we can add them to the official Hot Dog Challenge instagram (Official_HotDogChallenge) page, and so you can be in the running for Dog of the Day!
